Our in-house built heating and cooling stages can reach temperatures in the range of 50ºC to -40ºC. With this in-situ stage, samples can be examined under non-ambient conditions, to evaluate the effect of temperature on the sample’s microstructure. Furthermore, the cooling stage can help to protect sensitive samples by keeping them at fixed (low) temperatures.
The maximal sample diameter is 25 mm. To maintain frozen conditions during scanning, we use special EPS (isomo) containers with dry ice.
